Having lived with hair loss for over 20 years, I am familiar with the emotional roller coaster a bald individual experiences. We are conditioned from a very early age that hair is a persons crowning glory and bombarded by media driven stereotypes and perceptions of how we should look.
When you lose your hair, a piece of you is lost and there can be a significant grieving time. It is common for individuals experiencing hair loss to live through the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally acceptance.
